Class start on April 1

IU admission in 1st year hons ended

Admission to the 1st year honors for the session 2012-2013 started in Islamic University (IU) from March 10.
Result of the admission was published since the February 23; the day of admission test got started as well.
This time, total 88320 students took part in the admission test under 22 departments in the university. Average 60 students vied for each sit.
A unit published result on first day. The admission test began on February 23.
University sources said the admission process will be continued till April 4.
University sources said the process of admission test ended peacefully.
“Meanwhile class for the session will  start hopefully on April 1,” Prof Dr. Abdul Hakim, Vice-Chancellor of the university told.
This year, the admission test in the university started  late.
The admission was slated to begin on November 17, 2012. But it was postponed due to teachers strike in the university. The university teacher’s association went on indefinite strike  demanding removal of the then corrupt VC M Ala Uddin, Pro-VC M Kamal Uddin and Treasurer Shahjahan Ali.
The teachers declared no work under the corrupt trio and they returned back after government removed Ala Uddin and Kamal Uddin from their post on charge of corruption.
