Tight security on Victory Day

Special security measures are being taken to ensure smooth celebration of the Victory Day across the country on today.
A four -tier security measures will be adopted by deploying thirteen thousand policemen in and around the National Mausoleum in Savar and Central Shaheed Minar in the city.
Rab, SWAT (Special Weapon and Tactics unit) and detective branch of police will remain on active on the day. The security measures have been taken  apprehending subversive acts on the victory day after recent violence, militants activities and threats of Jamaat-Shibir.
Besides, police force was already deployed from Saturday in the important establishments of the country.
Additional Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Haque said, “Every city and district police supers were directed to ensure any faultless security measures in their respective arenas.”
DMP additional commissioner Abdul Jalil Mondol said, “Sufficient police personnel will be deployed in the city to ensure security of people and properties.”
DMP media center Assistant Police Commissioner Gazi Rabiul Islam told banglanews, “Some 13, 000 police personnel will be deployed in the city.¬† Besides, restriction has been imposed on vehicular movement many roads on the occasion of the victory day.”
Rab source said around 2, 000 Rab personnel will be deployed only in the city.
