Homeo doctor bombed to kill in Chuadanga

Criminals killed a local Homeopathic practitioner with bombs at Rotirampur village in Jibonnagar upazila in Chuadanga on Saturday night.
Local people caught one of the killers with firearms and handed over to police from area.
The dead was identified as Abdur Rahim, 40, son of late Sobhan Mondol of Rotirampur in Jibonnagar upzila. According to police, a group of criminals stopped Rahim at Uthli on Amtola-Rotirampur road when he was returning home from his treatment chamber at Monohorpur bazaar at about 8.30:pm.
The criminals hurled two bombs on Rahim at point blank leaving him dead on the spot. Chest and abdomen of the victim were severely blown. The criminals also chopped body of Rahim with knife.
Officer-In-Charge (OC) of Jibonnagar olice station Md. Sahjajan confirmed the incident.
Hearing the sound of blasts, local people of the areas came out of home and rushed to the spot and found Rahim’s dead body.
After information, a team from Jibonnagar police station rushed to the spot, recovered the dead body and sent to Chuadanga sadar hospital for autopsy.
Police also recovered a foreign made pistol from the spot.
After one hour of the incident, people found a man with blood splattered shirt at Uthli bus stand was talking to mobile phone at about 9.30:pm.  The bus bus stand was half kilometer off the spot where the killing incident took place.
“Over suspect, people chased caught the man named Ziaur Rahman alias Zia and informed to police,” OC said.
Later a team from Detective Branch (DB) of Chuadanga police led by Sub-Inspector Ashraful Islam rushed to the spot and arrested Zia.
“During interrogation, Zia admitted his involvement with the killing,” OC said adding that “the incident was a mugging,”
Hailing at village Ramnagar in Damurhuda upazila in Chuadanga, Zia is involved in crimes including mugging, police said.
“Zia also named three more of his accomplices and police is trying to arrest them,” OC said.
The slain Homeopathic doctor left two daughters—–one is aged 13 and another 8-year.
