Times National Desk - February 11th, 2013

The investigation agency of International Crimes Tribunals interrogated Jamaat leader ATM Azharul Islam at a safe home in the capital on Sunday for his alleged link to crimes against humanity committed during the country’s Liberation War. The quizzing of the Jamaat-e-Islami acting secretary general began around 10:00am at the safe home in the capital’s Dhanmondi area and continued till 5:00pm with a one-hour lunch break, said Abdul Hannan Khan, coordinator of the investigation agency.
Earlier, the International Crimes Tribunal-1 had given the permission to the agency to interrogate the Jamaat leader in the war crimes case.
On August 22 last year, police arrested Azharul from his Moghbazar residence following an arrest warrant issued by the ICT-1.
