Mob lynched two robbers in Kushtia

Two robbers were beaten to death by a mob at Arpara village in Sadar upazila in Kushtia early Thursday.
The deceased were identified Arif Hossain, 25, son of Alam Hossain of Shankardia, and Ashraful Islam, 35, son of Atiqul Islam of Dhambalpur village in Alamdanga upazila in Chuadanga district.
Another robber Hasibul, 15, caught by the mob was handed over to the police. Police recovered one pistol, 3 bullets, a Chinese axe from the spot.
Joynul Abedin, additional superintendent of police in Kushtia, said a gang of seven to eight robbers stormed into the house of one Idris at Arpara village around 1:30am.
Hearing screams of the family members, Idris’ neighbours rushed to the spot and surrounded the house, the ASP said.
At one stage, they entered the house and managed to catch three of the gang while the other robbers fled the scene, he said. The villagers dragged the robbers outside the house and beat two of them indiscriminately, leaving the duo dead on the spot, he added.
Two police from Kushtia Model police station and Islamic University police station rushed to the spot after the incident.
Police recovered dead the bodies and sent to Kushtia general hospital.
