BSF picks up another Bangladeshi in Chuadanga frontier

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) did not return back the Bangladeshi cattle trader they picked up from Benipur border point in Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga on Wednesday.
The victim was Liton Hossain, 28, son of Abdul Khaleq of Benipur village in the same upazila.
“We sit in a flag meeting with BSF on Thursday afternoon but they (BSF) declined to return the Bangladeshi on plea of legal process,” Commander of BGB-35 Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Qazi Asaduzzaman told.
Quoting the documents produced by BSF in the flag meeting the BGB official said the Bangladeshi is now in Krishanagar jail under Nadia district of Paschimbangla. The BSF handed the Bangladeshi over to Krishnagar police on Wednesday and it was produced to Nadia district court, in which the court sent him to jail.
According to BGB official, a BSF team of Nunaganj camp under Nadia district in Paschimbangla picked up cattle trader Liton from the pillar No 61 when he was crossing the border at about 6.30: am on Wednesday. He has no legal documents during his entrance to Indian territory.
The victim’s relatives informed the matter to local Benipur BGB camp. The camp sent a letter to BSF protesting the incident and asked a flag meeting. BSF responded positive and a company level flag meeting was held at Benipur No Mans land.
Earlier on December 19 and December 26, BSF picked up two Bangladeshi cattle traders from the same border point.
They are Sentu Mondol, 26, son of Nuru Mondol and Khalilur Rahman, 36 of Harinnagar village in Jibonnagar upazila in Chuadanga.
Both are now in Krishanagar jail.
